At GC Woodson, MD Primary Care, our professional focus is on the needs of the newly menopausal woman. Kim Teasley, our Director of Women’s Health Services, leads us in providing a comprehensive suite of services. The goal is to restore and conserve a woman’s health and beauty in multiple dimensions.
Medical Director Dr. Grattan Woodson, M.D. has focused his research and clinical career on women’s health needs. He has developed multiple approaches to combating frailty due to the loss of hormones after menopause. Many confuse frailty with aging. While aging is not reversible, frailty caused by loss of multiple key hormones after menopause is both preventable and treatable. Frailty is defined as bone loss, joint deterioration, loss of muscle mass and the replacement of those healthy tissues with fat. It causes physical weakness and fatigue, loss of a once attractive figure, arthritis, obesity, and osteoporosis.
But frailty can be prevented and treated with compounded balanced bioidentical hormone cream combined with a healthy diet and regular moderate exercise. Most women in the 50s are good candidates for this therapy. After evaluation we provide each woman with a hormone cream compounded in our laboratory specifically prescribed for them based on both subjective and objective measures of their response. Ms. Teasley also provides all our patients with nutrition counseling and exercise coaching.
Our staff Aesthetician April Secen LMP and Dr. Woodson are skilled in the evaluation and management of women with sun damaged skin and hair loss. They offer a number of non-invasive or minimally invasive therapies developed exclusively for women to restore and conserve the health of skin and hair.
